A/B Tests

Make informed decisions by comparing the performance of two or more popups.

Overview

A/B tests are a common tool to optimize performance of marketing measures like popups. Typically, you select two or more popup variants with minor variations you want to compare the performance of.

In EasePop you can then decide to split traffic between these popups. After testing for a while, you can compare results and decide which variant was more effective for your usecase.

Create Your First A/B Test

Visit A/B Tests to see all tests or create a new one. Select "Create A/B Test" at the top right to create your first test.

In the new screen, give your test a name and select the domain you want to run the test on. Next, you can select all popups you want to add to your test. To start, it is good to select two popups.

Next, manually select what percentag of users should see the first or second popup, or simply press 'Equal Split'.

Lastly, you need to select the popup targeting settings that will be used for all popups of this A/B test. See Displaying Your Popup for reference about the targeting options. If you have already configured one popup to have the targeting options you want, you can select "Load Configuration from Popup" to automatically load these defaults.

Note:
While the A/B test is active, the targeting config set here will override any changes you make in the popup's own configuration. Only after you pause or delete the A/B test will the associated popups return to their normal operation.

Compare performance

You can easily compare the tested popups. Just visit your analytics dashboard and filter for a specific A/B test. This will automatically only show data for the tested popups. You can use the dashboard as you would normally.
