Popup Editor

Master the visual popup editor and design tools.

Popup Editor Overview

The EasePop visual editor is a powerful drag‑and‑drop interface that lets you create professional‑looking popups without coding. This guide covers the essential features and tools available in the editor.

To get started, create your first popup if you haven't already. Visit this quick link to start creating immediately!

First steps

  1. Create a new popup frame. A frame represents one screen of your popup. A single popup can have multiple screens that the user can switch between and always starts at frame 1.

  2. Select your preferred popup type. Currently available types are "modal", "banner", "side", and "corner". Feel free to switch between types and try what you like best.

  3. Go to the "Elements" tab in the sidebar and add your first element to the popup. Start with a text element. Click the new element to edit its text or use the toolbar to change settings.

  4. Click the "Preview" button below to see the popup in action, as your users would see it.

Elements Overview

Text

The text element is the most basic building block in any popup. Customize font, size, alignment, or add links — the limit is your creativity.

Button

The button is a versatile element that can be used to close the popup, submit forms, or change popup frames. Use the same text styling tools as for text elements.

Input

The input field accepts user submissions. Select an input type and add a unique key for the field. This will be associated with user submissions later. You can add required or optional input fields and style the text using our styling tools.

Image

Does what it says.

Countdown

Sometimes you want to convey urgency to your users. Use the countdown element and its different styles to do exactly that. Choose between counting down to a fixed time or using "Engaging" mode to keep users on edge. In this mode, the countdown stays close to zero but never actually reaches it.

Container

Use a container to place two or more elements next to each other. Adjust percentage‑based child sizes and alignment.

Spacer

For when you just need that extra space.

Create a multi-frame popup

Creating your first multi-frame unlocks the full potential of EasePop.

Start by adding a second frame by clicking "Add New Frame" at the top again. Now you can switch your current view by selecting either of the two frames. Add a button on the first frame, set the action to "Change Popup Frame", and select Frame 2 as the target. That's it — your users can now go to another frame of your popup.

Set up a popup trigger and targeting options

The last key to success is to know when to display the popup. Go to the "Settings" tab of the sidebar in the EasePop editor.

  1. If you have not already, add a domain from the available domains. Select a domain from the input field and press the blue plus button.

  2. Select the domain from the list below. Most of the time, the popup should be displayed on a specific URL. Select the "Specific Pages" option. Add paths (including wildcards *) to decide where your popup should be displayed.

  3. Decide what should trigger your popup. Select a trigger type in the "Popup Trigger" section and adapt any parameters that appear.

  4. Lastly, set up targeting. By default, the popup is shown to all visitors on all device types. You can deselect target device options if needed. Additionally, you can show a popup only to new or returning visitors. Note that this requires setting a small flag in the user's localStorage. If you are subject to GDPR, you may be required to mention this in your consent notice. Visit Compliance & Privacy for more information.
